Two-Minute Italian Salad Dressing

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This two-minute Italian Salad Dressing really pumps up the volume on your everyday chopped salad. The key to a good salad is really a stellar dressing and this one fits the bill.

Really good ingredients are key for really good dressings. This is honestly what has helped me to love–and dare I say even crave!–salads for the weekday lunch. This dressing is tangy and flavorful with a bit of crushed red pepper flakes and dried Italian seasonings.

Key Ingredients for this Two-Minute Italian Salad Dressing

Here is what you’ll need to whip up this salad dressing in mere minutes:

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: We want good quality olive oil and this garlic infused one from our friends at VomFASS is a really good one if you’re looking to add a gourmet olive oil to your collection. Otherwise, use any really good quality olive oil you love.
  • Red Wine Vinegar: As mentioned above, opt for a good quality red wine vinegar. Most vinegars on the market can be a bit too acidic. This one has such a great balance of flavor. I honestly don’t use another red wine vinegar blend.
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes: I love a little heat to this Italian Salad Dressing. If that’s not your scene you can leave this one out but it is really delicious in this dressing.
  • Dried Italian Seasonings: I love the mix of seasonings in the dried Italian Seasonings by Simply Organics and it’s great if you don’t have fresh herbs on hand. If you want to use fresh herbs, you can but remember, this dressing is ready in two-minutes with our pinch hitter friends of dried herbs in this variation.
  • Garlic Powder: Rather than using grated fresh garlic, which might feel a bit too pungent and strong for a day-time lunch salad, we’ll use garlic powder here which works just as well.
  • Kosher salt and ground black pepper: use and adjust to your tastes to help balance the flavors of your dressing.

  • 2 tablespoons good quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon good quality red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Scale up the ingredients here to make a bigger batch of dressing for multiple servings…or multiple days for the week ahead. Store unused dressing in a glass jar fitted with a lid and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
