    Dinner Plans: Week 13

It's Week 13 of Dinner Plans and we've got some kid free time this week!

My parents arrive tonight for one night and then will drive the kids down to SoCal for Spring Break. I'm endlessly grateful for their support (and for the breather!) and also am remembering to take a moment to savor this time. I'm taking the week off from my day job to spend some time working on the blog here. My husband and I are also planning a few day dates in the area. Some hiking, time at the coast, and maybe a dinner or two out feel like it will fill our cups before the kids return.

    Dinner Plans for Week 13

Unlike last summer when the kids were with the grandparents in SoCal and we had dinner reservations every night, this week we'll be cooking more at home together. We've got one pre-birthday outing planned (my birthday is this week!) but we'll look forward to relishing some time alone at home and savor a few meals together in the quiet.

I'm craving bright and fresh flavors. A foodie field trip to a couple of specialty markets are on the agenda as I'm on the hunt for fried dried peppers and specialty vinegars to turn up the volume on salads and sides.

Here’s what else caught my attention in our CSA box, Good Pantry Haul, and the fridge, freezer, and pantry this week:

    • Carrots
    • Green Garlic
    • Treviso
    • Little Gems
    • Mandarins
    • Cilantro
    • Green Cabbage
    • Magenta Chard
    • 1 Leek
    • Potatoes
    • Grapefruit
    • Frozen Spinach
    • Asparagus

Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:

Sunday: Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Fingerling Potatoes, Roasted Peppers, Peperoni Cruschi, and Fried Capers

Monday: Asparagus Tart in Puff Pastry with Spring Greens and Champagne Vinaigrette

Tuesday: Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Pico De Gallo

Wednesday: Springtime Risotto with Asparagus and Greens

Thursday: Easy Stir Fry Pork and Asparagus Bowls with Mandarin-Ginger Soy Sauce

Friday: Pan-Seared Halibut, White Bean and Golden Beet Purée, Grilled Asparagus, Meyer Lemon Herb Butter

Saturday: Pizza with Wild Mushrooms, Arugula, and Grated TomaTruffle

From favorite recipes to new meal ideas using a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut while reducing food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉
