Week 52 of Dinner Plans and we can't believe the end of year is here!
I'm striving to savor this time of year with family and friends as we share laughs and lots of hugs over yummy food and good wine. We come home from our trip to SoCal in a couple days and I'm looking forward to spending Christmas in Napa before my parents come up for the New Year. I'll be taking the next couple of weeks to think about goals for the blog going into 2026 and look forward to sharing all that's in store! In this season of gratitude, I'm so thankful for you being here. From sharing how recipes turn out to your kind messages, I love the ways we're all cooking well, and eating well, through the year while supporting our local farms!
Dinner Plans for Week 52
Winter is here! A week of rain is on the agenda and we've got holiday meal planning to do. I've ordered our first Christmas Duck from Stateline Smokehouse and I'm thinking of a few sides to pair with it. I've got a batch of recipe tests to finish and family to host for New Year's Eve. I'm excited to end the year on a delicious note.
That said, we're still deep in pantry clear out mode. Loads of dried beans, lentils, and grains will take center stage this week. Roast duck with all the trimmings will be part of a holiday dinner that's sure to become an annual tradition.
Here’s what caught my attention in our garden, fridge, freezer, and pantry this week:
- DIY Salad Mix
- Yuzu
- Diced Celery
- Sprouting Broccoli
- Purple Cauliflower
- Brown Rice
- Spaghetti
- Puff Pastry
- Brie
- Cherry Jam
- Salmon filets
Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:
Sunday: Seasonal Quiche with Sautéed Pak Choi, Garleeks, and Mushrooms
Monday: Easy Meatballs with Arugula Salad

Wednesday: Seasonal Lasagna with Spinach and Ground Beef
Thursday: Roast Duck with Duck Fat Potatoes, Wilted Greens, and Carrots on Parade
