Dinner Plans: Week 45

It’s Week 45 of Dinner Plans and we’re prepping for the holiday cooking season!

We enjoyed our first Halloween in Napa as a family and I was excited for the ways neighbors enthusiastically passed out candy and got into the festive spirit. Having wrapped up our Dia de Los Muertos celebrations, too, our attention now turns to all the holiday prep ahead. I stocked up on store bought pie dough from DuFour as it’s only available in November and December. I like to have store bought pie dough at the ready for dinners and easy entertaining. This is the best store bought version I’ve come across for quiche, pie, and more. It’s on sale this week so stock up!

DINNER PLANS FOR THE WEEK

This week we picked up our Riverdog Farm and share and I was thrilled for a few new veggies and loads of leafy greens for our own DIY salad mix. Here’s a list of the fruits and vegetables we received:

Riverdog Farm:

  • Heirloom tomatoes
  • Spinach
  • Bok choy
  • Green Beans
  • Parsley
  • Acorn squash

The weather has turned a bit cooler now and some comfort meals make their way back to our weekly menus. From soups and risottos to my favorite gnocchi version, Cooking with Our CSA is turning the page to the cozy comforts of autumn dinners.

Here is our game plan for dinner this week:

Sunday: Roast Turkey Breast with Roast Carrot Tart

Monday: Spinach Quiche with Caramelized Onions and Marinated Kale Salad

Tuesday: Beef & Potato Enchiladas

Wednesday: Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

Thursday: Tomato & Garlic Confit Pasta with Lamb Meatballs

Friday: Acorn Squash Gnocchi with Basil Pesto

Saturday: Pizza with a Butternut Squash Sauce Base, Grated Pecorino and Parm, Fontina, and crumbled Sausage and Roast Peppers.

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉

Wishing you a nourishing week ahead. 🧡
