It’s Week 48 of Dinner Plans and it’s our favorite week of the year for food!
We’re experiencing our first Atmospheric River here in Napa and it’s been a doozy. With rain forecasted for the next week, I’m craving all things cozy. Nourishing soups, weighted blankets, wool socks, all the hygge elements.
This week we also look forward to hosting family for Thanksgiving. I’m excited to spend time with family and to savor the season of gratitude.
Dinner Plans for the Week
The Thanksgiving Boxes arrived! This week we picked up our Riverdog Farm and Stepping Stone Farm CSA shares and it’s definitely inspiring the seasonal menu for our holiday table. We’ve got greens for sauteing, squash for roasting, and all the delicious elements to make beautiful seasonal pies.
Here’s what we picked up our CSA shares this week:
Riverdog Farm:
- Grape Tomatoes
- Butternut Squash
- Pomegranates
- Rapini
- A mix of little gems and lettuce
- Spinach
Stepping Stone Farm:
- Song JTS Cauliflower
- Kyoto Red Carrots
- Touchstone Golden Beets
- Scarlett Purple Tatsoi
- American Flag Leeks
- Komtsuna (Japanese Braising Green)
- Fresh Herb Bundle
In the lead up to Thanksgiving, I’m keeping dinners before Thursday as simple as possible. During the week I’ll prep elements for stuffing, the brine for turkey, and peel and dice veggies for a variety of sides. Cozy comfort is still on the menu but we’ll keep it as simple as possible as we prepare for the end of week festivities. This recent post on meals to make before Thanksgiving is one I’m drawing on for dinnertime inspiration.
Our game plan for dinner this week:
Sunday: Sunday Lasagna with Roasted Tomato Sauce
Monday: Braised Kale and Rapini with Creamy White Beans
Tuesday: Crispy Chicken Cutlets with Side Salad
Wednesday: Grilled Salmon Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries
Thursday: Dry Brined Herb Roasted Turkey with Garlic Confit Mashed Potatoes, Harissa Roast Carrots, Garlicky Green Beans, Mushroom and Herb Stuffing, and Persimmon Butter Tart
Friday: Leftover Turkey Pot Pie with Puff Pastry
Saturday: Pizza with Butternut Squash Sauce, Bell Peppers, and Italian Sausage Crumbles
From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste.
