    Dinner Plans: Week 15

It’s Week 15 of Dinner Plans and we've got a few new favorite recipes here!

The Braised Lamb Shanks (below) have been on repeat. This is mostly due, in large part, to the number of lamb shanks we've collected over the last few Meat Club deliveries from Five Marys Farms. Paired with a delicious brown butter colcannon and we've got a Sunday Supper we'll be making on repeat for the next few weeks.

    Seasonal Cooking Tip: Cabbage Creativity

When it comes to seasonal cooking, this year I'm sharing a weekly tip here focused on preparing ingredients, preserving foods, and kitchen hacks that help you save time.

This week we're talking about a few ways to enjoy cabbage. It's a cruciferous vegetable that is super nutritious as well as economical and budget friendly. I've been able to make at least a week's worth of meals from a single head of cabbage from a given CSA box delivery. A few ways I've made the most of it: this Colcannon, this sauté, and a cabbage kimchi recipe that I'm working to get up on the blog soon. There are so many ways to enjoy it. What's your favorite recipe for using up your cabbage?

    Dinner Plans for Week 15

We picked up our Riverdog Farm box this week and we've got some braising greens for either one pot pastas or to roast alongside other springtime veggies. More mandarins for our growing collection for afternoon snacks and another test of the marmalade. And the most fragrant oregano I've had to date.

Here’s what we have in our CSA shares this week:

    Riverdog Farm:

    • Gold Oak Murcott Mandarins
    • Little Gems
    • Daikon Radish
    • Rabe
    • Fresh Oregano
    • Collard Greens

Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:

Sunday: Red Wine Braised Lamb Shanks with Brown Butter Colcannon

Monday: Crispy Marinated Tofu with Rice, Sautéed Rabe, and Daikon Radish Kimchi

Tuesday: Chipotle Lime Marinated Grilled Chicken and Caesar Salad

Wednesday: Herb Roasted Chicken Thighs with Roasted Carrots and Asparagus with Rabe

Thursday: Ground Beef Bulgogi with Rice and Quick Sautéed Green Beans

Friday: Baja Fish Tacos with Fresh Tortillas and Avocado Crema

Saturday: Pizza with Roasted Garlic, Mixed Mushrooms, Gruyere and Truffle Oil

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Finally, Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉
