    Dinner Plans: Week 9

It's Week 9 for Dinner Plans and we are poking our heads out of the most recent rain and snow storm in Southern California. With record rain and even snow in our area winter is definitely still going strong. The break is brief as another round of rain and snow is on its way heading into this next week. We definitely need it!

Our friends at Sage Mountain Farm were snowed in so our CSA pickup was cancelled for today. Hoping they continue to stay safe and warm as we gear up for another round of winter weather.

This gave me a chance to shop all our produce this week at the Claremont Farmers Market. It's something I rarely get to do since we get just about all of our produce from our CSA box! This was definitely a treat to support a number of local farms with this week's haul. Some of the amazing items picked up this week:

    • Baby trumpet, shitake, oyster, and shimeji mushrooms from Nature Grow
    • Loads of mandarins, blood oranges, lemons, and avocados from Griffith Family Farm
    • Berries from Gaytan Family Farms
    • Honey & Bee Pollen from Palo Alto Honey
    • Napa Cabbage, potatoes, broccolini, and snap peas from Weiser Family Farms

I'm trying my hand at making kimchi this week using Roy Choi's recipe from Masterclass. The purplish napa cabbage from Weiser Family Farms looked too incredible to pass up so this is going to be fun! I'm baking with citrus this week, including making my blood orange loaf cake. We'll cook up a few stir fries and make omelettes with the variety of mushrooms we purchased this week. So much good stuff!

    Dinner Plans This Week

There are lots of great meals on deck for this week. Check out our game plan for dinners here:

Sunday: Burrito Bowls using leftovers from the last week!

Monday: Teriyaki Salmon with this Warm Mushroom Salad with Sesame Dressing

Tuesday: Chicken Enchiladas Suizas (recipe test)

Wednesday: Salmon Burgers with Quick Red Cabbage Slaw

Thursday: A riff off this Super Salad using Black Garbanzo beans, my pickled red onions, and roasting off some of the beets we have in our freezer.

Friday: Pasta with Broccolini & Sun Dried Tomatoes (recipe test)

Saturday: Mushroom & Fontina Pizza with Arugula Salad

Cheers to a nourishing week ahead! ❤️
