Dinner Plans: Week 31

It’s Week 31 of Dinner Plans and gearing up for the big move this weekend!

We’re down to the wire now in packing. This week we officially make the move, northward, to Napa! I’m so excited to call Northern California home and to find a new farm CSA to join. This marked our last week picking up the farm CSA at Sage Mountain Farm. After more than 4 years as members, we ended our membership with so much gratitude. Phil and the team have been so amazing to us. I’m thankful for the collaborative partnership over the years where I’ve been able to share meal ideas and recipes that celebrate the season’s ingredients in each weekly box.

I look forward to finding a new farm CSA to join and keep the recipe inspiration coming! Stay tuned for the one I choose to support and for all the recipes that will highlight the beauty of California produce.

Dinner Plans for the Week

I am excited to host a cooking class today with our friends at the CSA Innovation Network! Today we’re talking about unboxing a CSA and thinking through the game plan for using all the CSA ingredients while reducing food waste. This is a class I’m very much looking forward to as I’ll share my favorite tips for optimally cooking through the seasons. We’re making my favorite Zucchini Basil Pesto and I’m sharing my favorite tips for making the perfect pesto everytime. Hope you are able to join me there! If not, a recording will be shared to those who signed up. With that pesto prepped, I’ve got a few ideas for making sure we enjoy every ounce before the move:

  • Making a pesto aioli to top a few turkey burger patties.
  • Swirl pesto into a bit of whipped ricotta for a vegetable lasagna with squash, broccolini, and greens.
  • Roasting some salmon we have in the freezer then topping the cooked fish with a few dollops of pesto.
  • Adding pesto to our pizza topped with shaved summer squash, ricotta, and garlic.

HERE IS OUR GAME PLAN FOR DINNER THIS WEEK:

Sunday: Turkey Burgers with Roast Potato Wedges and Zucchini Basil Pesto Aioli

Monday: Vegetable Lasagna

Tuesday: Pollo al Pastor Tacos with Guacamole

Wednesday: Pasta with Broccolini and Sausage

Thursday: Roast Salmon in Parchment with Pesto

Friday: Greek Inspired Salad with Mediterranean Marinated Grilled Chicken, Cucumber, Feta, Tomatoes, and Kalamata Olives

Saturday: Pizza with Shaved Summer Squash, Pesto-Ricotta dollops, and Shaved Garlic

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉

Cheers to a nourishing week. ❤️
