Dinner Plans: Week 34

It’s Week 34 of Dinner Plans and this week is all about getting to know our new-to-use local farmers market. The Napa Farmers Market runs every Saturday year-round and Tuesdays/Saturdays now through December. I love the option of a weekday farmers market run if I run out of ingredients or want to pick up something I didn’t pick up on Saturdays.

I had a chance to catch the market this past Saturday and it’s incredibly lively and rich in produce options from so many amazing local growers. This also gave me a chance to scout out farms for a new CSA to join. I’m going to head back to the market on Tuesday to visit the rest of the stands since I only saw about half the market yesterday during a very busy Saturday morning.

A small haul for the week can be seen below. I stocked up on heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and loads of zucchini. As we round the corner to the start of the school year for us and the whispers of fall around the bend, I’m soaking up all the summer produce I haven’t yet had a chance to enjoy. Between packing and moving, I tried to clear out our old pantry as much as I could and didn’t shop our old farmers market as often. Now that we’re here, I can’t wait to experience the seasonal foods here in Napa.

Here’s Our Game Plan for Dinner This Week

Sunday: Roast Lemon Herb Chicken with Herby Polenta

Monday: A Classic Caprese Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, Basil, and Fresh Local Mozzarella

Tuesday: Chicken Fajitas with Fresh Corn Tortillas

Wednesday: Pasta with Caramelized Zucchini

Thursday: 30 Minutes Pasta with Hearty Heirloom Tomato Sauce

Friday: Zucchini Tart in Puff Pastry for all the zucchini

Saturday: Pizza with Roast Chicken or Grilled Sausage and Zucchini Basil Pesto

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉

Cheers to a nourishing week. ❤️
