Dinner Plans: Week 39

It’s Week 39 of Dinner Plans and we’re preparing to welcome the fall cooking season!

We’ve found a CSA! Starting October, I’m signing up for the Riverdog Farm CSA. I’m working on another post about how I landed on choosing them but for now, I’m so excited to subscribe to this family-owned farm CSA. I will still likely supplement our weekly box with produce at the Napa Farmers Market, but I think this will be a great way to get to know our local food context while still relishing in the seasonal produce cultivated here.

Fall Garden Planning: Garden Beds are In!

As we lean into cooking with the seasons, I’ve crafted a triangulated food source: farm CSA, farmers market, and our garden. With an increase in space I’ve now installed 3 six-feet by three-feet modular garden beds. I bought these Birdies beds and they were so easy to install! Planning out the produce we’ll grow to supplement our CSA and I’m so excited. Use Code CWCSA for 5% off your order for these Birdies if you’re looking for a garden bed to install, no matter the size of your garden.

DINNER PLANS FOR THE WEEK

We’re turning our attention now to autumn produce and I’m looking forward to the season ahead. From squash to dark leafy greens and root vegetables, slow cooking and comfort food will slowly make their way to our weekly Dinner Plans. Cozy but quick is what we’re after now.

Here is our game plan for dinner this week:

Sunday: Lasagna using our freezer roast tomato sauce

Monday: Zucchini Tarts in Puff Pastry

Tuesday: Potato and Turkey Chorizo Tacos

Wednesday: Rustic Ratatouille with Herby Polenta

Thursday: Broccoli & Potato Soup

Friday: Mexican Fish Soup (Caldo de Pescado)

Saturday: Pizza with Crumbled Sausage, Caramelized Onions, Figs, and Gorgonzola

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉
