Dinner Plans: Week 11

It’s Week 11 of Dinner Plans and my parents are on the road towards home after a wonderful week with us here. I am so thankful for the time we got to share with them and for the moment my husband and I could catch our breath and share a few date nights out.

It was also great to showcase all the delicious produce we get with each CSA box and how we prep meals each day.

Seasonal Cooking Tip: Sweets for the Season

When it comes to seasonal cooking, this year I’m sharing a weekly tip here focused on preparing ingredients, preserving foods, and kitchen hacks that help you save time.

This week we’re talking about the delicious citrus season. There are lots of ways to enjoy citrus fruit and my favorites are usually in baked goods and fruit curds or preserves. Here are a few you’ll love to make this season:

  • Blood Orange Curd
  • Blood Orange Loaf Cake
  • Passion Fruit Curd

Dinner Plans for Week 11

We skipped our Riverdog Farm box this week as we have a few items left to use up before the next delivery. I did manage to pick up a couple items at the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Our favorite mushroom farmer was there! Mushrooms for scrambles or frittatas. More citrus for cakes and muffins. The first berries and asparagus.

Here’s what we have remaining from our CSA shares last week:

Riverdog Farm:

  • Gold Oak Tango Mandarins
  • Red Beets
  • Yellow Carrots
  • Green Cabbage

Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:

Sunday: Lasagna with Seasonal Greens and Ground Beef

Monday: Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Tuesday: Salmon Burgers with Cabbage Slaw

Wednesday: Pasta with Kale Pesto and Sausage and Peas

Thursday: Ginger Soy Glazed Chicken Thighs with Crunchy Cabbage Salad with Miso Dressing

Friday: Baja Fish Tacos with Cabbage & Cilantro Slaw (recipe coming soon)

Saturday: Pizza Picnic with Seasonal Pesto, Crispy Prosciutto and Burrata

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Finally, Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉
