Dinner Plans: Week 51

It’s Week 51 of Dinner Plans and we are rounding the corner to the end of the year!

I cannot believe next week will mark the fifty-second week of Dinner Plans. I’ve so enjoyed sharing the meal plans and recipe ideas each week with you as we support our local farms and farmers through our weekly CSA delivery. So many of you message me sharing how helpful and inspiring these meal plan ideas have been. I’m so grateful for you being here and look forward to sharing more inspiring recipes in 2024!

This week’s produce box is giving us lots to batch prep and cook for a number of seasonal preservation recipes as well as holiday gifts.

Seasonal Cooking Tip: Homemade Holiday Gifting Ideas

With an abundance of certain ingredients this time of year, I love the idea of making a food specific gift for my friends and family. My aunt had a ton of persimmons this year and she gifted me two big bags weighing a total of 8 pounds. I waited for the Hachiya persimmons to ripen and will get to work on making a batch of persimmon butter to enjoy at home and to gift to her as a thank you.

My husband’s mom sent him home from a recent trip up to Northern California with nearly 10 pounds of lemons. I’m making a batch of lemon curd, candied lemon peels, and preserved lemons to gift friends and neighbors. I’ll also make a lemon loaf too with some freezer blueberries we saved from summer. What a treat!

PS: don’t forget to check out Part I and Part II of my Pantry Essentials Series for more tips and recommendations for keeping a well stocked pantry ahead of the holiday season.

Dinner Plans for the Week

This week’s CSA Box delivery has pomegranates, persimmons, pears, dark leafy greens like spinach and the first of the spaghetti squash we’ve seen this season. We’ve got potatoes for soup and acorn squash for my favorite gnocchi recipe too! We’re in for a delicious week of Dinner Plans.

Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:

Sunday: Mushroom Lasagna with an herby béchamel

Monday: Spaghetti Squash and Red Potato Latkes

Tuesday: Roasted Butternut Squash & Pear Soup with Rosemary Focaccia

Wednesday: Acorn Squash Gnocchi with Pesto & Crispy Prosciutto

Thursday: Cozy Beef Stew

Friday: Creamy Turkey & Potato Soup

Saturday: Pizza with Butternut Squash Purée, Prosciutto and Arugula

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉

Wishing you a nourishing week ahead. 🧡
