    Dinner Plans: Week 7

It's Week 7 of Dinner Plans and we ramping up those Super Bowl snacks!

After weathering some of the massive rain storms we've seen to date, we're looking forward to sunnier skies and game time rooting for our team, the San Francisco 49ers. I may have been born and raised in Southern California, but Northern California has always had my heart. In my 20's I had dreamed of one day living in San Francisco, but will definitely settled for a season where I get to call Sonoma County home. Who knows, maybe I'll buy that farm or vineyard our kids keep telling us we should buy. 😉

    Dinner Plans for the Week

We skipped this week's CSA delivery considering we're cooking our way through so much produce. I've got two medium sized butternut squash that I'll roast in diced cubes to use in breakfast salads and dinner salads. We will keep working to make a dent in the massive head of cabbage (about 4 pounds) by using a wedge for coleslaw for sliders or chicken sandwiches or even grilled fish tacos.

Lent will begin this week for those honoring the season ahead. Fish will make its regular appearance on our menus for the weeks to come. Looking forward to the markers of a changing season that also signal to us Spring will soon be here.

Our Game Plan for Dinner this Week:

Sunday: Super Bowl Sunday Snacks complete with Ground Turkey Nachos, Mini Meatball Sliders, Coleslaw with the cabbage, and mini cupcakes

Monday: Roast Carrot Tart in Puff Pastry

Tuesday: Turkey Chili with Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuits

Wednesday: Slow Roasted Salmon with Herbed Compound Butter and Braised Lentils

Thursday: Cabbage Tart with Leeks and Caramelized Onion (recipe uses red cabbage, but that head of cabbage we have will still work here)

Friday: Mexican Fish Soup (Caldo de Pescado)

Saturday: Pizza with Crispy Thin Potatoes, Cabbage, Crumbled Italian Sausage, and Fontina

From favorite recipes to new things with a wide variety of ingredients, cooking delicious food with our CSA definitely gets us out of a dinner rut and reduce food waste. I share meal ideas for our busy weeks with our weekly newsletter. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to be in the know when they’re live. 😉

Wishing you a nourishing week ahead. 🧡
